Educator quality is one of the most important factors in improving student achievement outside the home. For almost 40 years, CFE supported Chicago public school educators through grant and fellowship programming.

Post-Covid, we strategically shifted our focus to funding teacher-driven work in the city’s most disinvested neighborhoods. And, as of December 2023, we closed our doors permanently. Many thanks to all who have been supporters and advocates over the years!

Who We Are

Educator quality is a fundamental factor in providing the rich educational experience that all Chicago students deserve. The Chicago Foundation for Education remains committed to providing support, resources, and professional learning opportunities to Chicago public school educators who advance student success in the most disinvested neighborhoods in the city. Equity remains at the heart of our work now more than ever, as we continue to address the needs of Chicago educators and their students throughout the coming school year.

With close to 40 years of work under us, we recognize and thank those who have contributed to our success. We are appreciative of the dedicated volunteers and the individual, foundation, and corporate donors who have made all of our accomplishments possible.
